TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Deadline for application must be postmarked by July 1 of each year and awarded at the Association Convention.
The Association is coordinating a tuition assistance program in cooperation with the Corporate and other sponsors.
The objective of the tuition assistance program is to assist individuals desiring to further their post-secondary academic education through college level courses in the fire service or health related field.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE
The applicant, parent/guardian or grandparent of the applicant must be a member of a local fire department who is a member of the Cambria County Regional Firefighters Association (CCFRA). The applicant, parent/guardian or grandparent of the applicant must be a member of the CCFRA and must be in good standing with the Association.
HOW TO APPLY
Applications ma be obtained by contacting the CCRFA from its Secretary, or its website or a Chairperson of the tuition assistance program.
Applicant must complete all sections of the application and attach a statement of approximately 250 words explaining why they are applying for tuition assistance, why they believe these courses will be useful to them and their goals and objectives.
In evaluating the applications, preference will be given to those demonstrating need, status with local fire department, desire and initiative. Credits previously obtained in college should be listed and a transcript furnished if possible. Each applicant may be subject to a personal interview by a member of the tuition program if needed. Applications must be submitted annually.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF TUITION ASSISTANCE AWARDS
Applicants will be notified of their success by mail and the names of all successful applicants will be officially announced at the annual convention. Awards are for one year only?
PAYMENT OF TUITION ASSISANCE
Awards will be for a two- or four-year program. The amounts will be determined by the Tuition Assistance Committee. Payments will be made to the award winners by June 30th. Evidence of satisfactory completion of college course including a transcript of final grades is required prior to payment of the award. Student my obtain a 2.0 G.P.A.
